Hello! I have been officially on the other side of the world
for 7 jam-packed days and so far it’s been sweet as.
Well my adventure started in the air when I took off from
Hartford and landed in DC. The plane was late, and my connector to LA was only
20 minutes after I was supposed to land in DC.
I lost my carry on, which had to be stowed under the plane. I got off the plane and walked to the
terminal not knowing I had to stand next to the plane and wait for my
luggage. After some minutes of panicking
I was directed to RUN back to the plane before they took it away and what do
you know; my little carry on was sitting next to the plane all by itself. I RAN to get it since my connector was set to
leave in 10 minutes time and I still had no idea what gate I was supposed to be
at. I got charged by several men
screaming that I was in an unsafe area and had to leave immediately…..why my
luggage was set there then I am not sure but I actually grabbed it anyway and
just started running because I was NOT about to miss my connector.
I sat next to a dog on the plane to LA.
Once in LA I was able to eat for the first time in 13 hours
and then my plane was off! I had a window seat and an empty seat to my left and
another girl who was in my program in the isle seat. I immediately tried to sleep so I ended up
missing the provided dinner but I got a total of 6 and a half hours of sleep
that flight so I am thankful for that. I
woke up with my left knee feeling like it got shot at 36 times…I don’t know
what happened but it actually took around 3 days for it to stop killing me, and
even now it will occasionally start hurting again. Other than that the plane was HUGE and even
though I was thrilled to have a window seat it was pitch black outside the
entire flight so I couldn’t see anything except the occasional random pacific
islands. Since I was sleeping on and off
most of the flight it wasn’t bad at all.
I actually never left my seat because I didn’t want to wake the girl in
the isle seat. Over all it was a decent
flight!
